INTRODUCTION
From 2014 to 2017, Elite Development Foundation (EDF) base was Cecil Paine Stadium in Maraisburg, west of Johannesburg. The program supported 30 boys aged 13-19, 25 of them residing in a rented Academy house. The academy, included meals and transport, and was funded solely by the owner. EDF is a registered non-profit in South Africa, focused on improving living standards by identifying and nurturing young sporting talent. Since its inception, EDF has collaborated with the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture (West Rand) to conduct talent searches and youth capacity-building initiatives
The project now aims to establish a Youth Soccer Academy in Mafikeng, North-West Province, for both boys and girls aged 13-19. The vision is to build a modern youth recreation and resource center, featuring a community school, library, Computer skills development centre and comprehensive sports facilities. The center will offer professional sports training along with educational courses on healthy living (HIV/AIDS, substance abuse), ICT skills, entrepreneurship, and community development.

True education goes beyond books—it fosters holistic growth.
Research shows that students involved in sports perform better academically, have improved attendance, and gain confidence. Sports also cultivate vital life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and time management, supporting a healthy, active lifestyle.
